Do you ever have a moment where you bite something and feel like you’ve traveled back in time? I’m usually not the juicy, nostalgic guy, but after grabbing a bite of Wyman’s Just Fruit and Greek Yogurt Bites (a new freezer course for me that combines tiny Greek yogurt pebbles with frozen fruit) I felt like I was 10 years old again .
You see, my family was never big on dessert growing up. Summertime was special to me for a lot of reasons, but mostly because it meant Dippin ‘Dots – those super adorable, lightning-frozen ice-cream balls – were on the horizon. Every time we went on vacation to the beach, my mom would let me get a small mug at the nearby supermarket, and I remember racing to eat every last ball before it all melted in the hot summer sun.

My heart skipped a beat when I ate my first spoon. Made from real frozen wild blueberries (the tiny ones) and flash frozen Greek yogurt balls, this indulgence was an absolute delight. (Wyman’s also makes a version with strawberries and raspberries.)
The real blueberries add a natural touch of sweetness to this treat, not to mention a serving of fruit, and the frozen Greek yogurt bites add a delightful creaminess to it. Just like before, I raced to end this frozen medley before it melted.
While the best part of these cups is undoubtedly the frozen yogurt chunks, this indulgence opened my eyes to the fact that frozen wild blueberries would make a hell of a good dessert on their own.
What is your favorite summer treat?
