The TAMPA Art Museum will receive a $ 12 million renovation

To serve the growing downtown Tampa community, the Tampa Museum of Art announced the completion of plans to begin a $ 12 million renovation. The renovations will be fully funded by private donations and aim to expand the museum’s educational program and gallery space. Construction is scheduled to start in May. However, no closings are expected.

WRESTLEMANIA 37 COMES BACK TO TAMPA

Under new security protocols yet to be announced, Raymond James Stadium will host WrestleMania 37 in April. WWE will coordinate with local partners and health authorities to ensure the safety of those in attendance and will announce ticket availability in the coming weeks. Governor Ron DeSantis expects the event to bring tens of millions of dollars to the Tampa area.

Poppos Taqueria is now serving burritos, tacos, and more in downtown Tampa.

POPPOS TAQUERIA OPENS INTO THE CITY

With locations in Sarasota, Anna Maria, and St. Petersburg, Poppos Taqueria is located in downtown Tampa. The restaurant is located at 302 E. Kennedy Blvd. and offers a Mexican-inspired menu reminiscent of the street food of San Francisco’s Mission District. In response to the pandemic, Poppos Taqueria is offering on-the-go and roadside pickup options.

GANGCHU TAKES KOREAN ROAST CHICKEN TO SEMINOLE HEIGHTS

Noel Cruz, the owner of Ichicoro Ramen, opens Gangchu, a Korean fried chicken restaurant in Seminole Heights. The restaurant is located at 6618 N. Nebraska Ave. and is currently being renovated. An official opening date has not yet been set; However, the restaurant’s progress can be viewed on Instagram, @eatgangchu.

NEW RESTAURANTS OPEN ON THE WATERWAY

One of the original restaurant concepts at Sparkman Wharf, The Corners, announced it would open a second location on Water Street Tampa early next year. Located on the first floor of the new Heron residential building at 815 Water Street, the restaurant provides seating for customers to enjoy Detroit-style pizza in Corners’ Square. In addition, Sparkman Wharf has announced the opening of three more restaurant concepts. These restaurants include Noble Rice, a modern Japanese restaurant whose ingredients are flown in from Japan weekly, and The Battery, a sister concept to The C House restaurant in Seminole Heights. The battery will feature fine bourbon as well as a private dining room and full service bar. Eventually, BurgerFi, known for its hormone- and steroid-free Angus beef burgers, will open its first location in downtown Tampa at Sparkman Wharf.

INSOMNIA COOKIES OPEN NEAR USF & SOHO

Insomnia Cookies, an Orlando, Miami, Gainesville, and Tallahassee bakery known for its late-night delivery service, opened its first Bay Area locations at 5114 E. Fowler Ave., just across from the University of South Florida, and 533 S. Howard Ave., in stores on South Howard Plaza. The bakery’s menu consists of nine classic cookie flavors, six deluxe cookie flavors, ice cream, cookie cakes, and much more.
