After a season of outdoor performances, the Players Center for Performing Arts is moving into a temporary space for future productions.
The arts organization will move to a location in The Crossings in Siesta Key, formerly known as Westfield Siesta Key. The space that will serve as a temporary home pending construction of a performing arts center at Lakewood Ranch is behind the Connors Steak and Seafood.
“We at The Players couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities this space offers,” said CEO William Skaggs. “With the recent demolition of our former theater, it seems almost a coincidence that we are beginning to reveal the future.” This venue allows us to take the audience out of the elements and return to an indoor setting. There are so many amazing things on the horizon and we look forward to bringing the community with us. “
The 92nd season of the Players Center will be announced in July and will take place in October at the new location. The outdoor performances are expected to continue as a separate series and virtual performances will take place if rights permit.
