According to the Associated Press, jurors were close to reaching a verdict Friday when the judge ruled they would have to start over due to the exclusion of the foreperson due to a previous engagement.
The outlet reported that jurors had almost reached a verdict in eight of the nine counts. They also considered whether comedian Judy Huth had abused plaintiff Judy Huth at Playboy Mansion, 1975, when she had been 16.
The only issue they were unable to reach a conclusion on was whether the 84 years old acted when punitive damage should have been required, according to the news outlet.
The court was adjourned when Los Angeles County Judge Craig Karlan realized that courthouse closes at 4:30 p.m. Jurors who stayed past the closing time of the courthouse would be required to pay overtime. There is no overtime budget at the moment.
On Monday, jurors resumed deliberationsHowever, Friday’s departure of the acting foreperson juror meant that an alternate was appointed to her place. The jurors will then have to review all nine counts.
